Another Blog on Calvinism?

Another Blog on Calvinism?

Yes, another one. But there are different aims for this one. First, there needs to be a Calvinism for the rest of us, thus the description for the blog. So much Calvinism, while wonderful and deep, is sometimes too deep for the average layperson to dive into and actually enjoy. Moving from the theological to the real, from the ontological to the practical...that's what I need. And so do most Calvinists, if you ask me.

That brings me to the second reason. I love satire and sarcasm, but sometimes Calvinists can sure be mean and ugly. Whether we mean to or not, we end up cutting others with our sarcasm to the point where we make the doctrines of grace look so ungracious. Let's unite and put an end to that kind of thing. Gentleness, meekness, humility, patience, and forbearance are all the attitudes needed to command and maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace (Eph. 4:1-3).

The third reason for this new blog is to connect the doctrines of grace to reality. These truths need to move from the pulpit to the pew, from the locker room to the playing field. That means less talking and more living, more believing, more loving. The articles I post on this blog have this very thing as their main purpose. If I can make the connection between a particular doctrine of grace and something in your life, then I've accomplished something wonderful here!

The posts given here are article-driven. For those who know me, I can't blog short little ditties about politics and such. I muse alot. The gears in my head are creaking constantly. So if it sounds a little noisy, pardon the lack of clear communication and comment on how I can say it better.

Feel free the print the articles and distribute them as you see fit. Don't change them unless you ask me first. That's only so that I won't experience anymore trouble out there than Calvinism has already brought me!

I say: "Right doctrine leads to right thinking and right thinking leads to right living."

God is sovereign over all things. We need to remeber that as we live our lives. Our doctrine needs to be made practical in every situation and should speak truth to all our lives.

Preach on!
